ISS Maiden Flight
Brand Innovation

MISSION

Innovation from scratch. Conceiving and launching a brand from a blank page in a 15-week pressure cooker, transitioning sauce into a full blown lifestyle experience.

CHALLENGE

Breaking the friction of commitment. Condiment commitment acts as a primary barrier to flavor curiosity, leading to a graveyard of half used bottles in the back of the fridge.

STRATEGY

The Flight-Based Trial System. Architecting a bold move to trade higher net margins for high frequency discovery, lowering the psychological barrier to intergalactic flavor exploration.

ESTABLISHING STRATEGIC TRAJECTORY

Early creative energy outpaced strategic direction. To ensure the brand moved beyond novelty, I established a discovery to loyalty pipeline that traded immediate volume for a trial-driven fandom— validating our reason for being before design began.

MISSION CONTROL AND
LAB LOGISTICS

I mastered the lifecycle management and operational duality required to bring a vision to life. Walking into my first major leadership experience, I balanced zooming out to architect strategy with zooming in to manage the technical intricacies of kitchen science and production.

The "50 Things" Exercise

To find our direction for this entrepreneurial side-hustle build, I made everyone write a list of 50 things they loved. We sat together and read them all—that is how sauce was born. It wasn't luck; it was a leadership style that encouraged buy in from the jump.

The Flight Based
Trial System

To end condiment commitment, we engineered a multi-regional flavor architecture designed to guide Gastronauts through the culinary universe. Our system consists of three distinct regional pillars each offering a curated exploration of sweet, savory, and spicy profiles.

The strategy culminates in the Maiden Flight, a premium discovery box designed to act as the primary entry point for brand newcomers by prioritizing variety over volume.

The Laws of Sauce

Validating the Prototype

We spent months in our strategist’s kitchen running sauce sessions and refining recipes. I managed the feedback loops between these prototypes and the community to ensure our kitchen science was validated by real-world palates, not just creative ego.

Social Discovery & Performance

I led the documentation of our iterative builds and kitchen sessions, moving the brand from zero to 10k plus views by prioritizing transparency over polish.

Managing the Mission

We successfully transformed a commodity into a destination. Leading this build proved that cohesion is an active verb. It is the tactical work of pivoting through technical chaos to ensure the final product reaches the consumer on time and intact.
